Minimum No. Of Participants: Course Description: This course gives candidates the knowledge and confidence when dealing with patients / people handling. Objectives of Course: On completion participants will be able to ➢ Perform correct Lifting Techniques. ➢ Understand the limitation of the Musculo-Skeletal system. ➢ Realise the consequences of incorrect lifting, pulling and pushing. ➢ Understand relevant Legislation. Course Content: ➢ Muscul0-Skeletal System ➢ Bio-Mechanics & Mechanism of Injury ➢ Flexibility ➢ Basic Ergonomic Principles ➢ Organisational Aspects ➢ Legal Obligations ➢ Patient Lifting Who should attend this course: This is of benefit to employers in ensuring that all staff engaged in manual handling, are trained in the safe handling of patients. General Information: Training can only be carried out on the client’s premises as it is necessary to have a patient bed to use as part of the training.
