Course Details
Minimum No. Of Participants: 8 Course Description: The course will cover the main provisions of Health and Safety at work incorporating the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations. On Successful completion of this course delegates should have an understanding of the legal requirements of risk assessment and be able to identify hazards both generally and from an organizations perspective. Objectives of Course: On successful completion delegates should be able to: ➢ Understand relevant health and safety legislation / codes of practice / information and guidance on compliance. ➢ Have an understanding of legal duties and management responsibility. ➢ Understand list of duties and responsibilities of Employees, Clients, Designers, Contractors and Sub-Contractors. ➢ Have an understanding of Risk Assessment and Control, Active Monitoring and Re-Active Monitoring ➢ Be able to select workplace precautions, relative to the hazards and record results of risk assessments and carry out reviews. ➢ Reporting accidents and incidents and distinguish between accidents, incidents and near misses and statutory requirement for reporting and recording. Course Content: ➢ Introduction to Law ➢ Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 ➢ Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Applications) Regulations 2007 ➢ Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Working at Heights) Regulations 2006 ➢ Managing persons other than employees i.e. contractors ➢ Hazard Identification ➢ Risk Assessment ➢ Active Monitoring ➢ Re-Active Monitoring ➢ Accidents: – Investigation and Reporting / Case Studies ➢ Manual Handling ➢ First Aid ➢ VDU & Ergonomics ➢ General Office Safety ➢ Security: General and Personal ➢ Avoiding / how to deal with confrontation ➢ Stress and Bullying ➢ Fire Safety ➢ Chemicals ➢ Electricity ➢ Question and Answer Session, Review & Assessment Who should attend this course: This course is ideal for managers and supervisors, or personnel who are engaged in a managerial capacity in the workplace. General Information: This is a 4 day course. It can be scheduled over 4 consecutive days, over a 4 or a 2-week period, whichever way will suit the client and their employees attending the course. Times can vary from 9am to 5pm each day. There will be a mid morning Break (15 min) and Lunch (1 hour) each day – times will slot in with company schedule Any Pre-course Requirements? Certification Details: Participants will be awarded a nationally recognised “IOSH Managing Safely” certificate of training upon successful completion. Safety Solutions also issued an identification card. |
