Course Description:
Provides a course for Beginners who want to become Slinger & Signaller in the Construction Industry. New Entrant participants will be issued Trainee Logbook and Trainee Card (Red in Colour) which they will hold for 6 month – then they will do the final assessment for the full licence. Objectives of Course: • Understand the relevant Health and Safety legislation. • Identify workplace hazards regarding Slinger/Signaller. • Understand the principles for the correct selection of Lifting Equipment. • Identify Safe Working Load (S.W.L.) and Safe Sling Angles. • Identify and Apply the full range of Slinging and Signaller methods. • Apply and Understand Signaller/Signaller Operations. • Carry out Operational Checks on all Lifting Equipment. Course Content: • Safe Slinging and signaller procedures. • Safe Storage and Handling practices. • Control of Lifting Equipment. • Security and Safe Packing of Loads. • Marking Identification. • Crane Signals. • Balance and Stability. Who should attend this course: The courses are designed to meet the needs of Beginner Slinger/Signaller who do not have a certificate. General Information: Slinger/Signaller course can be carried out on Safety Solutions Ltd premises or on the customer’s premises. Any Pre-course Requirements? • Before taking part, participants are required to have a valid Safe Pass Ticket and have completed at least 3 months on-site experience. • Their own PPE. • A passport photo and PPS number. Certification Details: Participants will be awarded a FAS CSCS Certificate of Training on successful completion of this course.
